Are You Having Wild Thoughts Yet?
The WAIT IS OVER!
The sexy Savage x Fenty line is here, and Rihanna has done it again! With the worldwide launch of her 1st lingerie collection Savage x Fenty on Friday, May 11th. RiRiNavy and Fans alike are running over to Savagex.com to get their first peek and steals at the celebrity's much-anticipated intimates line.
Rihanna has proven to us time again that she is a chameleon in the industry and ready to take it over. Extending her empire from Music to Philanthropy and her recent Sept 2017 launch of Fenty Beauty [ which is on its way to surpassing Kylie Jenner's, Kylie Cosmetics 2-year-old line] Rihanna is out here WORKING. Rihanna is unapologetically and passively coming to our wallets, and somehow I'm ok with this. SHE GOT US GOOD.
SavagexFenty is an inclusive lingerie line that caters to both straight-sized and plus-sized women, with a nudes line that incorporates women of all shades. Similar to her manifold Fenty Beauty line which encompasses 40 different shades of foundation Rihanna makes it a point to serve the diverse consumer precisely what they are asking for. With over 90 Pieces of lingerie, sleepwear, and accessories, you're bound to fill your shopping cart with a few goodies.
Rihanna is giving us exactly what we asked for, so I'm personally glad there is someone out there listening to our needs! Before the launch of SavagexFenty, Rihanna launched a promo countdown on the brand's website that prompted fans to inquire more information about the upcoming collection. To sign up, you were to leave your name, email, bra, and underwear size. The sizes pre-listed ranged from a 32A to a 44DD for bra’s and XS to 3X for the underwear collection. If your size happened to fall outside of this spectrum, there was an ‘others’ feature that allowed you to list your specific size. Rihanna was surveying us guys! She took our measurements and that sneaky beauty-icon came back with body-loving pieces that would look great on us all!
The collection is broken down
into four capsule collections:
"On the Reg" : Which is your everyday grab and go bra and panty set. This capsule collection is where you will find all of your basic nudes and tee-shirt bras.
"U Cute" : plays with lace and more delicate fabrics. It will have you walking around feeling like a baby doll.
"Damn" : Turns up the heat with its sheer and sanity bodysuits and rompers. Buy at your own risk; I would like to say ;)
"Black Widow" : is for the brave at heart. Its illicit designs feature garter sets, open cup bras, and ruffled backless panties.
[[ Are you feeling Savage yet?? ]]
Rihanna is pushing women to embrace their inner sexy as she quotes in an interview with Vogue in May 2018, “Women should be wearing lingerie for their own damn selves." She wants us to focus on loving the skin we're in rather than waiting for our beauty to be verified by the opinions or satisfaction of others. She went on to tell Vogue, "I can only hope to encourage confidence and strength by showing lingerie in another light. You don’t have to stick to one personality with lingerie; it’s fun to play around. You can be cute and playful one week and a black widow next week. You can take risks with lingerie. I want people to wear Savage x Fenty and think, I’m a bad bitch. I want women to own their beauty."
What’s great about SavagexFenty is it is appropriately and accessibly priced.
Here’s what I’m finding for prices ranges:
T-shirt Bras : $29 - $34
Bras : $39 - $59
Underwear : $14.50 - $29
Corsets, Rompers, Jumpsuits, and robes $69 - $99 (Turning up the price a bit)
( then there are the exclusive Fenty handcuffs $14.50 - $29 )
[ Don’t tell me that’s expensive when we spend more at Victoria Secret ladies! ]
Btw- If you consider yourself apart of RIRI-Navy or a Superfan of Rihanna and want to get exclusive early access to launches, the ability to shop limited-edition items, and free two-way shipping you can sign up for her dedicated membership program. This program will cost you about $50 annually, and you’ll be able to have first picks at the hottest items before they are sold out. This is a pretty sweet deal, as I wear a typical size, so when it’s time for me to shop, there’s nothing left.
If you were to ask me, I would think that Rihanna is trying to go head-for-head with Victoria Secret and as someone who loves to support black-owned businesses, I can definitely see SavagexFenty being my new ‘go to’ for my intimates. Head over to Savagex.com to check out more of the collection and grab a few things yourself. Tell me what you think of the collection, or which item will be your first buy below!
